Organic or Local Beeswax?
A lot of people ask me why I don’t use organic beeswax. It’s a great question! I choose to buy beeswax locally (in Southern California) and because bees roam so far, it’s difficult to find certified organic beeswax here where farms are less spread out.
For beeswax to be certified organic, the hives must have a 16 mile radius around them full of all organic plants. That means no residential neighborhoods, or parks, only organic farmland. It’s a tall order, so I just focus on finding the highest quality beeswax in the area. That means I buy all my beeswax from Ventura and Los Angeles.
The smell of melting beeswax organic or not? Pure bliss.
